Alyssa Cashman ’15, Senior Associate Director of Residence Life at 91ºÚÁÏÍø, has been selected for the prestigious Zenobia Hikes Award, a national honor from NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
“I am honored to have been selected for the through NASPA. Empowering women has always been a passion of mine, and I have been fortunate to contribute to this mission within the 91ºÚÁÏÍø community and beyond,” said Cashman.
“This past November, I had the privilege of balancing two significant roles as a new mother and the NASPA Region I Conference Chair. I hope that one day, my daughter Ella will look back at pictures from the conference and recognize that women can achieve anything they set their minds to.”
The NASPA Foundation and Center for Women established the award in memory of Dr. Zenobia Hikes, who led student affairs divisions at Virginia Tech and Spelman College before passing in 2008. Recognized posthumously as a NASPA Pillar of the Profession in 2009, Hikes was dedicated to advancing women in higher education and student affairs. The award celebrates leaders who help students become engaged change agents for the common good.
“I am deeply impressed by Alyssa’s leadership and contributions to the 91ºÚÁÏÍø community and NASPA,” said Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students Matt Heiser. “She’s an inspiring role model and advocate who continually strives to create pathways and opportunities for countless students and staff alike.”
Cashman will receive the award at NASPA’s annual conference in New Orleans on March 16, 2025.
